The Knife - Heartbeats
27Mar08
This song is hot fire. Maybe Kanye or Jay-Z will make this into a hip-hop remix.

Rock! I’m also loving LCD Soundsystem’s “Someone Great” at the moment.
Everything is blowing up…first Spank Rock, now I see that known Piven associate Anand Wilder’s band Yeasayer are featured at LAST YEAR’s SXSW as a band to watch: http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1555639/20070326/winehouse_amy.jhtml
and are getting mondo love from Pitchfork.
I remember when I was the only person on the MGMT bandwagon. Their song “Kids” roxxors. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w7JthgTMHDU
What’s cool is they’re a bunch of dorks from Wesleyan (they party at Eclectic, or “The Pit” in PCU lore) and my sister went to their house parties. Now they are huge!
Similarly Brazilian Girls which Lindsay’s friend Ran was bros with way back in the day.
What does this say? With the rise of myspace and music blogs as valid promotional tools, I should have kept my band with Yu Miyagawa going. Should I post my .mp3s here or send them out to music bloggers to hype that shit?
Jose gonzalez made a truly gorgeous folk version of this song. the knife also does a great song called Parade. This song was also in an episode of Entourage, I recently watched.
If you grow impatient waiting for Kanye or Jay-Z to step up, you might want to investigate Diplo’s “I Like Turtles” mix, in which he juxtaposes the Scala cover of this Knife song with Iko Iko. Mad decent.
JRO,
